Amy Geddes is a musician and educator with many strings to her bow, quite literally! Growing up in Galloway Amy immersed herself in traditional music, song and dance and is passionate about passing on her knowledge of all things traditional and fiddle.

Currently she is playing with Jo Miller and friends in A’ the Way to Galloway and her own band The Amy Geddes Trio. Over the years she has performed with the Scottish Stepdance Company, Dean Owens, Tannas, Sophie Bancroft, Savourna Stevenson. While her heart lies in traditional music Amy has contributed to a broad church of musical projects; contributing to a Brian Wilson tribute album and appearing on albums by the Pearlfishers, Robin Laing, Scott Murray and Joe Lynch. Also in demand as a composer, Amy’s tunes are recorded regularly by leading Celtic players. Highlights include ‘Andy’s Saltire’ which opened the celebrated album ‘Bold’ by Catriona Macdonald and is the first tune in the 2023 Collection Folk Tunes From the Women. No less than four of her tunes were in the 2015 trad top 20. As a music educator she has forged a reputation as an exceptional and intuitive teacher with all ages and all abilities. In addition to tutoring students at her home Amy is the founder of the Fyne Fiddles music school which runs several times a year at Ardkinglas House on the banks of Loch Fyne. 2017 saw the launch of her first book Fyne Fiddles Volume 1 “practical ways to great fiddling – and it’s fun!”.
